Grace, getting what I don't deserve.

Its 6:53 in the morning. I've been reading. These thoughts are beginning to happen regularly. I don't deserve all of this. My wife loves me so much and is so good to me. & I now have a son who smiles every single time I look at him, or even walk in the room. I don't deserve this. I know God is good to His children. But I believe He is too good to me. His Grace abounds! Oh, how I love Jesus!

JJ Nadando!! JJ Swimming!!

It has been a hot summer and JJ has enjoyed cooling off in the pool! The first picture was taken early in the summer when the water was still a little cold and JJ didn't have a swimming suit yet. But he is always having fun with daddy!
The following pictures are of JJ swimming with some friends from church...he loves to be with the guys! :)

We are still trying to figure out how to put our videos on here without loosing their quality...we haven't succeeded yet, but at least you can share in JJ's experience when Josh dunked him in the water...he didn't know what to think about it! I think he likes moving over the water better! :)

6-Month Appointment

JJ went to his 6-month appointment early this week. We praise God that his pediatrician found him healthy, growing and strong. He now weighs 17 lbs and is 26 1/2 inches long. JJ has three teeth- two at the bottom and one coming in at the top. He can sit up well, talks all the time, eats rice cereal, vegetables and we will be moving on to fruit and meat very soon! Our pediatrician also finally told us that he believes our son will keep his light colored eyes, believing them to be hazel (blue and/or green, depending on what he is wearing). This time, they gave JJ 3 vaccinations and one oral (less than previous appointments). These shots didn't make him overly fussy, and he still smiled even with his bandaids on...however, he did run a slight fever that night. We are humbled and sooo grateful to our good God for a healthy baby, whom we love so much! Below is a short video of JJ playing with his toys and splashing during his bath. He loves to do everything sitting up now!

Sentadito! Sitting up!

Our little JJ is now sitting up by himself!!!...of course, after a little while he falls to his sides, but it's an advancement! :) He is stronger, too, as you can see him bend to reach his little teddy bear (which was Josh's when he was a baby) and he sits back up again. I'm not sure if he is giving his bear a kiss or wanting to bite it!

Happy 4th of July!

JJ had an eventful first 4th of July. We made a patriotic dessert and went to a friend's house for food, fun and fireworks. JJ stayed up past his bedtime, but watched the fireworks very intently. It was a fun night for us and we hope you all had fun, too! Let us know what you did... We hope to teach our little JJ to be thankful for his bi-country citizenship...God's blessings are immeasurable!

JJ has teeth!!

About a month and a half ago, I saw the first sign of teeth in our little JJ's mouth! I thought it was pretty early, since he was only 4 and a half months at the time, but I saw something white, so I put my finger in his mouth and sure enough, felt two little sharp bottom teeth! Since then, JJ's two teeth have grown and are clearly visible now (as you can see in the picture above). Now, when I put my finger in his mouth, I need to be very careful, as his bite hurts with his new sharp little teeth. God keeps growing our little one, and every little advancement makes us so happy and fills us with gratitude to our good God who has given us so much joy with the life of little JJ. Thank you to all of you who have prayed and continue to pray for him. We trust God to continue giving our son health by His grace.
